A hand-drawn sign bearing the official slogan of the community welcomes visitors to this amiable residential area. It says, "Nice Dogs, Friendly Folks." Grayton Beach has a unique style that manages to synthesize the presence of old-fashioned wooden bungalows with recently constructed beach homes. The Red Bar is an iconic destination that embodies this aesthetic. The ambient lounge atmosphere and the Red Bar Jazz Band attract a variety of visitors from all over the country.

Local attractions tell the other side of the Grayton Beach tale. The distinctive ecosystem and the diverse marine life support fishing and various beach activities. The Point Washington State Forest and Grayton Beach State Park are serene and pleasant. They are home to bears, deer and other wildlife.

Segments of the sparkling beaches still have protection under state law, which preserves the impressive dune lakes and all of the charming scenery bordering the Gulf of Mexico. Grayton Beach is also one of the two South Walton beaches that permit driving on the beach, which promotes the cultural activities of local residents, travelers and tourists.
